Oncological Genetics Clinic:
The Clinic increases the availability of oncological genetic counselling services for the Greater Poland region. It performs a subjective examination including family history of cancer. Moreover, it verifies histopathological diagnoses of tumours occurring in the family and, in the case of a patient, analyses the course of the disease, diagnostic tests and therapy used. A physical examination of the patient and their family is carried out, including the determination of further treatment for individual family members. In the counselling centre, the lineage is analysed in terms of the penetration and mode of inheritance of the disease in the family, and the genetically determined risk of developing cancer for individual family members is assessed and interpreted on the basis of genealogy and molecular tests.
