Imaging-Guided Biopsy Laboratory

The Unit’s responsibilities include the collection of specimens for histopathology of breast lesions that have been detected by imaging (mammography or ultrasonography) but are not palpable (incapable of being felt). The procedure involves a core needle biopsy, either mammography- (stereotactic) or ultrasound-guided (H-H). The Unit is a part of the Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology Department. Indications and referrals for biopsy, as well as dates are obtained and fixed through Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology Department.

Ultrasound-guided biopsy (HH) – Tuesday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
