The Annual Meeting of the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) together with the GEC-ESTRO meeting are held for many years and are the biggest international events dedicated to the newest achievements in brachytherapy of cancers. More and more physicians and medical physicists from all over the world are participating in these conferences. However due to high costs of travel and accommodation, not everyone can attend the ABS Annual Meeting regularly. Therefore the Brachytherapy Workshops are being organized as their main objective is to bring the largest number of colleagues closer to the most interesting and important topics presented at the ABS Annual Meeting.
The workshops are dedicated to radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, palliative medicine specialists, medical physicists and radiation technologists and others involved in the treatment of cancer patients. The main aim of our workshop is the exchange of opinions and experiences with cancer brachytherapy, multidisciplinary treatment, medical physics and radiobiology, based on the proceedings presented at the ABS meeting which will be held in San Diego (USA) on 12-14 April 2011.
The Brachytherapy Workshops will be conducted in Polish, in the form of a discussion panel preceded with presentations by specialists in conferred fields. Having in mind our foreign guests, our website and slides will be in English.
We especially encourage oncologists from neighboring countries to participate in our meeting.
