It carries out diagnostic and epidemiological studies for diseases spreading in the form of epidemic foci and epidemic diseases. Of particular importance is the Unit\u2019s role in identifying, preventing and selecting treatment of hospital-based infections. Head of the Unit provides consultation in antibiotic therapy for patients treated at the GPCC.
