It uses ionising radiation to destroy as many cancer cell as possible. The very treatment process is painless; however, some side effects may occur as with any other treatment. The Greater Poland Cancer Centre has a 60-year experience in irradiating cancer patients and applies the most advanced treatment methods in Poland. Importantly, patients who do not require hospitalisation (ambulatory treatment) are serviced immediately (no queues), while those qualified for hospitalised treatment are admitted within ten to twenty days.<br \/>\nGPCC provides radiation therapy for patients with diagnosed cancers of the following sites:<br \/>\n\u2022 breast<br \/>\n\u2022 lung<br \/>\n\u2022 gastrointestinal tract<br \/>\n\u2022 head and neck region<br \/>\n\u2022 genitourinary system<br \/>\n\u2022 woman\u2019s reproductive organs<br \/>\n\u2022 prostate<br \/>\n\u2022 central nervous system<br \/>\n\u2022 skin<br \/>\n\u2022 haematopoietic and lymphatic system<br \/>\n\u2022 bone and soft tissue<br \/>\n\u2022 paediatric cancers (radiotherapy only)<br \/>\n\u2022 sarcomas<br \/>\n\u2022 melanomas<br \/>\nRadiotherapy may be delivered by two methods:<br \/>\n\u2022 radioteletherapy (RTH): treatment using a source placed at a certain distance from the tissue<br \/>\n\u2022 brachytherapy (BTH): treatment using a radiation source being in direct contact with the tumour<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1134,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","template":"","class_list":["post-6263","dt_portfolios","type-dt_portfolios","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","portfolio_entries-radiotherapy"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/dt_portfolios\/6263","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/dt_portfolios"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/dt_portfolios"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=6263"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1134"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wco.pl\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6263"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
