Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy consists in the use of cytostatics in order to treat cancer. A variety of pharmaceutics are used, each of them attacking cancer cells in a different way. The most common way is to administer a combination of several medicines to boost the effectiveness of treatment. Chemotherapy may be used as a sole method or in combination with radiotherapy and surgery.

The duration of chemotherapy depends on the outcome achieved. Some side effects may occur – please, ask your attending doctor to receive more information.

At the Greater Poland Cancer Centre, chemotherapy is used in the treatment of all kinds of cancer, on both in-patient and out-patient basis.
